HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR NEW SHOWER SCREEN

FIRST USE OF YOUR NEW SHOWER

Before you use your new shower for the very first time, we recommend that it be kept dry and untouched for at least 24 hours. This will ensure proper curing of silicone around the enclosure.

If you touch the silicone, get it wet or attempt to wipe nearby areas this may lead to your shower enclosure leaking in the future

(Our Warranty is void if you move or use the screen before the silicone is dry).

CARE OF YOUR NEW SHOWER SCREEN

Maintaining your shower or bath enclosure is important for keeping it looking its best and making sure it lasts for years to come. The best way to do this is to wipe it down after every use with a soft, non-abrasive cloth or squeegee to remove any excess water. Don't forget to dry the glass and metal surfaces thoroughly afterwards.

Whilst your shower screen is made from safety glass, it can still be damaged by hard knocks or extremes of temperature, so always make sure that very hot or cold water is never sprayed directly onto it.

CLEANING YOUR SHOWER SCREEN

Wiping down the shower screen after every use is the best way to prevent the build-up of grime, soap scum and mildew. As a minimum, weekly cleaning is strongly suggested. The simplest, safest, and preferred method of cleaning your shower screen is by washing it with warm clean water and drying it with a soft non-abrasive cloth. If soil is still present after drying, use a mild soap and warm water mixture, mixing a couple of drops of mild liquid soap into a cup of warm water. Use a soft non-abrasive cloth, clean the shower screen and then rinse it thoroughly with clean warm water and dry.

Avoid the use of any acid or alkali “clean up” solutions or other cleaners that contain abrasives, acids, or alkali. These can damage the finish of your shower screen and make it more difficult to keep clean. In addition, do not use sharp instruments, scouring pads, dirty or gritty rags, powdered cleanser, steel wool or any other type of abrasive products. These can damage the finish of your shower screen.

Some of our shower components may be coated with a clear lacquer that will be irreparably damaged if subjected to scrubbing devices and/or abrasive chemicals.

Neglecting or ignoring the basic rules of maintenance may result in your shower screen not living up to its potential long life.

Please check the instructions on cleaning products before use, as they may not be appropriate for some shower screens.

LEAKS

shower screen leaks - how to fix

Although shower screens are designed to keep water contained within the shower area, it's important to remember that they are not completely watertight. If your shower area is small or the shower head is close to moving parts like swing doors or moving panels, there is a greater chance that water will escape. Small amounts of water may also find their way out when swing doors with drip seals are opened.

Frameless glass shower screens are more susceptible to water escaping because there are no overlapping gasketed joints to prevent the water from leaking out. If you have any problems with leaks, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We'll be happy to help you troubleshoot the problem and find a solution.

Your shower screen is an important part of your bathroom, and we want to help you keep it looking its best. Following these tips will help you keep your shower screen looking great for years to come. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to talk to us.
